Liberty University is a Christian institute of higher learning in Lynchburg, VA, that offers a full range of undergraduate and graduate programs. Through various programs on and off campus, students are encouraged to develop themselves academically, spiritually, athletically, socially and professionally while contributing to their communities. Liberty University has also been making efforts to set standards for wireless universities, including adding more computer labs and computers across the campus.
Pros:
- Despite its size of over 10,000 undergraduate and graduate students, Liberty's student to teacher ratio remains 23:1.
- Liberty University enrolls about 27,000 additional students through distance learning programs, including 15 undergraduate programs and 21 graduate online programs.
- Liberty is active in the community and supports several partner organizations, including Liberty Online Academy for elementary and high school students, and relationships with the Thomas Road Baptist Church, Liberty Godparent Foundation, and the Liberty Baptist Fellowship.
Cons:
- While Liberty offers an extensive list of undergraduate programs, the residential graduate programs offering is limited.
- Students who want to take advantage of a lot of off-campus resources and activities during their college experience may be disappointed that Liberty University is located in Lynchburg, VA, which has a population of only 68,000.

Undergraduate degree programs offered at Liberty range from Criminal Justice to the Visual Communication Arts to Aviation to International Relations to Broadcasting and Journalism to Clinical and Experimental Psychology. Student Life:
Students at Liberty University are prohibited from using drugs, alcohol and tobacco, and there are separate dorms for male and female students. Liberty also enforces a dress code and a curfew, but students are still encouraged to socialize with classmates in sports and other organizations. Liberty supports 18 different NCAA Division I athletic groups, plus intramural and club sports. There are also a number of spiritual programs on campus, including the Praise BAnd, Campus Church, and the Center for Global Ministries. Campus recreation and local festivals and activities also keep students engaged.
